Fulltime Enrollment - 12 units is required for practice and competition
Exception: last term, winter graduates and graduate students.
Continuing Eligibility – Requirements for competition to ensure student-athletes are academically eligible are as follows:
•6 unit term by term– you must pass 6 degree applicable units every term to be eligible to compete
•Good Standing– here at UCI is a 2.0 and is certified before the Fall term
•27 Units*– you are required to complete at least 27 degree applicable units during the academic year (for the Fall/Winter/Spring terms)
•Progress Towards Degree - is certified before the Fall Term to confirm that you are making sufficient progress towards your degree upon entering each year as follows:
• 2nd year – 36 units completed by end of Summer/ 2.0 GPA
• 3rd year – 40% (108 units remaining)/ 2.0 GPA
• 4th year – 60% (72 units remaining)/ 2.0 GPA
• 5th year– 80% (36 units remaining)/2.0 GPA

UC IRVINE'S GOOD ACADEMIC STANDING
To remain in good academic standing at UC Irvine, a student must:
pass at least 36***/41-45 units each academic year (or risk losing financial aid, parking privileges, etc..)
make normal progress toward your chosen baccalaureate degree
maintain a grade point average of at least 2.0+ and make progress toward your degree at a satisfactory rate.
declare a major by the time you reach junior status (90 units excluding college work completed prior to high school graduation).
Students will become subject to probation/contract or disqualification from further registration here at UC Irvine if:
A student whose grade point average falls below a 1.5 for any quarter, or who after two consecutive quarters on probation has not achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or a satisfactory rate of progress, is subject to disqualification.
after declaring a major, you fail to follow the program of study required by the Academic Unit.
you have selected undeclared status within a school and you fail to follow a program of study leading to the completion of lower-division school requirements.
if at the end of any quarter the grade point average for that quarter, or the cumulative grade point average, is less than 2.0.
